Bio
Ray is a native of Chattanooga, TN and currently resides with his family in Plano, TX. At age 12, Ray began playing drums and percussion, followed by guitar and vocals at age 19. He graduated from the University Of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a minor in Music Performance. After college, Ray moved to Dallas, TX where he continued his music studies through Dick Grove’s School Without Walls program. In 2005, Ray started the band, Diversion, covering rock and pop hits from the 80’s, 90’s, and today. The band went on to perform at various venues and events in the DFW area such as the Plano Balloon Festival, Sherlocks, McKinney Tavern, Hanks, and Austin Avenue. Ray is currently the lead vocalist and guitarist with the Prince Of Peace Lutheran Church worship band. His original vocal style incorporates a blend of pop, rock, country, and folk. In addition to his original music, he also covers artists which include Zac Brown Band, John Mayer, Blues Traveler, O.A.R., Keith Urban, Hootie & The Blowfish, Counting Crows, Toad The Wet Sprocket, U2 and more.
